07/20/11 Time for the latest installment of Snarked Street! I ran into my friend Tiffany on her lunch hour Friday afternoon outside The National Portrait Gallery and she was nice enough to pose for some photos and give me her thoughts on DC fashion. Thanks Tiffany!
Q. Who are you wearing?
A: I am wearing the Samira Stretch Ruffle Dress with the Dallyce Calf T-Strap Sandal, both from Ralph Lauren.
Q. Does DC have a particular sense of street style?
A: A melting pot of various cultures and populations from around the country, I would say that DC’s style is a patchwork of haute couture to urban chic to hipster grunge, yet always on the conservative side. Predominately though, there is an abundance of the modern prepster look with a Southern flare.
Q. Which DC neighborhood is most fashionable?
A: With dozens of store front boutique shops, and a hearty collection of the headline designers, I don’t think there is any denying that Georgetown has the potential to be the most stylish neighborhood in DC. The only thing holding this charming neighborhood back from the title is that too many of its residents look like they just stepped out of their country club’s social hour. Lose the bowties, guys!
