Washingtonscape: 4 Ton Einstein

07//11 This bronze statue of Albert Einstein sits on Constitution Ave. in front of the National Academy of Sciences.

Equations scribbled on the papers resting on Einstein’s knee represent three of his most important scientific contributions: the photoelectric effect,  the theory of general relativity, and the equivalence of energy and matter.

His nose has been rubbed shiny by countless visitors.
