Joel Bergner 1.28*

08/14/09 For the past 5 weeks, Joel Bergner has been painting the side of a building on U Street for the “Afro-Columbian Mural Project.”  He was hired by the DC Public Arts Commission and the mural is meant to depict the the real life experience of Columbian immigrants.  If you want to see the painting,  it’s in an alley on the South side of U Street between 13th and 14th Streets. He says he expects he will finish it “in a couple weeks.”

Jen88

08/12/09 My lovely friend Jen needed some headshots for work so I went to her apartment last night and took some photographs on the roof as the sun was setting.  The light was great and it was not as hazy out as it can get in August in DC.

But here’s the best pic from the shoot:

Eunice Shriver83*

08/11/09 Eunice Kennedy Shriver passed away this morning. One of the founders of the Special Olympics, she was an amazingly hard worker and helper for people with mental retardation. I took this photo of her in October of 2003 at the 15th annual Best Buddies Gala held at the her home in Potomac, MD.  Best Buddies is a charity like Big Brothers/Sisters that enhances the lives of people with mental disabilities.

The Gala is famous for the high concentration of star power it pulls in.
